The company management

HEIN, headquartered in Bech-Kleinmacher, is now one of the largest employers in the Luxembourg Moselle region, with 300 employees.

The executive team consists of Mr. Jean-Pierre HEIN, Chairman of the Board; his daughter, Cindy HEIN, Chief Administrative Officer; and Mr. Willy HEIN, Chief Executive Officer.

Hein Group – A family-owned business with a bright future

For nearly 100 years, the name Hein has stood for entrepreneurial spirit, reliability, and family unity. What began as a pioneering regional business along the Moselle has grown into a modern, internationally oriented corporate group—now led by the fourth generation.

Our History – Strong Roots

The company was founded in 1931 in Machtum by Jean-Pierre Hein and his wife Madeleine Müller. Jean-Pierre Hein recognized early on the potential of the sand and gravel deposits along the Moselle River and laid the foundation for today’s corporate group by developing a mobile screening and crushing plant.

In the 1960s, the canalization of the Moselle presented the company with new challenges. With foresight, the Hein family decided to build its own quay wall at the Bech-Kleinmacher site. Since then, sand, gravel, and construction materials have been imported by ship, handled there, and sold in Luxembourg.

After the company founder’s death in 1960, Madeleine Hein successfully continued to run the business together with her sons Alphonse, André, and Eugène.

Growth & Diversification

Starting in 1979, the third generation ushered in a new phase of development. Through a clear strategic realignment, the company diversified and expanded in a targeted manner. In addition to the traditional sand and gravel business, Transports Hein and Hein Déchets were established.

As a result, the family-owned business grew into a high-performing group of companies in the fields of building materials distribution, logistics, and waste management.

Today – Third- and Fourth-Generation Leadership

Today, the Hein Group is led by the fourth generation:

As Chairman of the Board of Hein S.A., Jean-Pierre Hein will continue to support the company and guide the new generation with his experience in an advisory capacity.

Willy Hein, CEO, is responsible for the strategic and operational management of all companies within the Group. With a clear focus on sustainable growth, efficiency, and future viability, he drives the Group’s continued development.

Cindy Hein, CAO, is responsible for organization, human resources, processes, and administration across the group. She is also a member of the Advisory Board and brings modern structures and a values-driven corporate culture to the group.

An International Move – The Founding of Hein Group GmbH

A significant milestone followed on January 1, 2026:

The establishment of Hein Group GmbH in Germany laid the foundation for the group’s international expansion.

Through Hein Group GmbH, Stutz Logistik GmbH and Stutz Hafenbetriebe & Baustoffhandel GmbH, both based in Merzig, Germany, were acquired.

The group thus brings together two long-established family businesses with extensive expertise in the fields of logistics, port handling, building materials trade, and waste management.

Bringing these capabilities together creates strong synergies, expands our presence beyond national borders, and lays the foundation for sustainable, shared growth.
